is offering a week-long camp for students ages 10-14 who are interested in writing. The camp will be held daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 18-22 on the third floor of the Midwest Writing Center Bucktown Center for the Arts in . Davenport
Participants will experience a workshop format and be exposed to various forms of creative writing and critique, and will also be introduced to local writers and editors. Quad Cities area poet and educator,
Ryan Collins, will facilitate the event. Collins commented on the great opportunity provided by writers’ workshops. Said Collins: “The workshop experience can be so helpful to an emerging young writer to explore the craft and gain confidence in his or her own development. The offers a comfortable and supportive space for young writers to explore their art.” Midwest Writing Center

. He teaches college English and leads various writing workshops for Quad City Arts, the Third Coast Moline and Bettendorf Public Libraries, and the . Ryan also serves on MWC's Board of Midwest Writing Center Directors and coordinates the Young Emerging Writers Program.
