Deadline Approaching for the Fall Poetry Workshop Series!

The deadline to apply for the Midwest Writing Center’s Fall Poetry Workshop Series is August 24^th. Those interested in attending the six-session series with award-winning poet Shane McCrae must complete the online application form and mail or e-mail two writing samples by that date. Class size is limited.

The workshop will focus on consolidating individual poems into chapbook-length books of poetry with special attention paid to voice, form, subject matter, self-editing, and self-listening. Shane McCrae, author of two chapbook-length books of poetry, has had or will have his work appear in “The Best American Poetry 2010”, The American Poetry Review, Fence, Agni, Denver Quarterly, and others.

Workshop participants will meet twice a month from September 1-November 17. The cost to attend the workshop is $210 for non-members, $180 for members, and $150 for students.
