Mississippi Valley Poetry Chapbook Contest now open for 2012 submissions

The Mississippi Valley Poetry Chapbook Competition annually invites submissions for the election of a regional (IL and IA) poet's collection and a national poet's collection to be published by MWC Press. Submissions must be postmarked between May 1 and July 31, 2012. The winners will be announced online at the MWC website.

Shane McCrae

The 2012 chapbook judge is Shane McCrae, author of Mule (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2011), and two chapbooks, One Neither One (Octopus Books, 2009) and In Canaan (Rescue Press, 2010). His work has appeared or  forthcoming in The Best American Poetry 2010, The American Poetry Review, Fence, Agni, Denver Quarterly, and others. He holds degrees from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and Harvard Law School.
